At the previous E1 race in Monaco, team owner LeBron James was onsite with Team AlUla to support the crew and its pilots, Catie Munnings and Rusty Wyatt. We checked in with LeBron after his visit to find out what he thought of the event, the RaceBird and his E1 experience in general. Here’s what he had to tell us.

 

Hi LeBron, you went to Monaco for the last E1 race to support the team - how was it for you?

 

“My trip to Monaco E1 was amazing and I finally got an opportunity to meet the team - Team AlUla is great! Also, to physically get to see the boat before they went out and competed on the water was special too. It was a phenomenal trip.”

What did you think of the RaceBird?

“I love the E1 boat, the RaceBird. I love the colours and the name. I loved how aerodynamic it looked, how fast it was on the water - I thought we did a great job.”

Did anything surprise you during your first E1 experience?

 

“I just think being there was special. I had seen it on TV and I had seen clips, but to actually be there and see how fast those boats are going in the water - that was quite surprising. It was inspiring, too. It’s always amazing to see people compete, have a drive, have a love for something, and go on and do what they love to do. The whole thing was super cool.”
