Team AIUIa Joins Sports for Nature Family Ahead of E1 Monaco 2026
Ahead of this weekend's E1 Monaco 2026, Team AIUIa Championed by LeBron James - an all-electric powerboat racing team competing in the E1 Series - has become a signatory of the Sports for Nature (S4N) Framework, joining a global network of clubs, teams, federations, events and sports organisations committed to delivering measurable progress for nature.
The commitment forms part of the team's Powered by Data, Driven by Impact sustainability strategy, which harnesses data and innovation to create meaningful, lasting impact both on and off the water.
Through its electric RaceBird boats and Blue Impact Programme, the E1 Series - also a member of the Sports for Nature Framework - and Team AIUIa combine high-performance racing with initiatives that protect marine biodiversity and support environmental projects in host cities around the world. Recent team initiatives include supporting the University of Reading's Climate Stripes project and an ongoing partnership with WATR, a smart environmental monitoring system.
Future projects, during the African and American E1 events, will focus on restoring habitats and mangrove ecosystems.
Established in 2022 by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and Dona Bertarelli Philanthropy, the Sports for Nature Framework encourages sports organisations to protect nature, restore ecosystems, promote sustainable supply chains and inspire communities to take action.
Team AIUIa started racing in the E1 Championship in January 2025 and is supported by the Royal Commission for AlUla (RCU). The team's new support of S4N complements RCU's long-standing partnership with the IUCN, who have a shared commitment to protecting AIUIa’s natural heritage and joint conservation initiatives, including the Arabian Leopard Programme.
